With more than 15 years of experience, DJ Q’s passion for Hip-Hop is expanding. Q has developed Sluggah Ent., a business that incorporates a variety of his talents. The components of Sluggah Ent. include a record label, DVD film production, street promotion and DJ services.

Inspired by the likes of Jam Master Jay, DJ Jazzy Jeff and others, Q started mixing during the “Golden Era” of hip hop when DJ’s set the tone and mc’s had to earn respect. After high school, he got involved with college radio, Hotmix90 (89.7FM), at Indiana State University. After leaving college, Q cultivated his popularity through Indiana and surrounding areas through clubs, mix-tapes and music conventions.

Relocating from Indiana to Louisville, KY in 2000, Q immediately got into the city’s music scene. He promoted his first show that year which featured Royce Da 5’9 (Eminem’s partner in rhyme) with success. Since then, he has been a judge on BET’s “Freestyle Fridays,” had a feature on Fox 41 News in Louisville, chosen as the top DJ in the Velocity Magazine, appeared on BET’s Rap City with Big Tigger in “The Basement,” hosts his own show “Q’s Weekend Takeover” Saturday’s 7p-10p along with the Saturday Night Street Party 10p-1a and Sunday’s noon-4pm on B96.5! He was elected into The Core DJ’s (The nation’s most powerful record-breakers) in 2005 and inducted into The Shadyville DJ’s 2006! Mountain Dew AST ‘06/’07 Tour DJ. 2008 Super Bowl XLII NFLX Pepsi DJ in Phoenix, AZ. BET Awards media reporter. In 2009, Q started his annual celebrity birthday events and continues to push Sluggah Entertainment as a brand outside of parties and concerts. 2010 “DJ of the year” Louisville Neighborhood Awards winner, promoted to full-time position and music director of B96.5. . 2013 was the 1st year Sluggah Entertainment put on The Fresh Music Festival and brought in over 2k people to see hip-hop legends Naughty By Nature, Black Sheep, Chubb Rock and more. Q is continually climbing the corporate chain interviewing prolific figures like Russell Simmons, Evander Holyfield and more. In 2015 Q helped launched WGHL-FM Oldschool 105.1 and was promoted to Assistant Program Director. By 2016, Q was promoted as APD over Urban/AC brands WGZB/B96.5 and WMJM/Magic 101.3. He is highly respected, sought after and booked in his market and is making an impact on urban music on and off-air in Louisville, Ky. from which he coined the phrase “Sluggahville” to the industry reps and artists that frequent the market.

DJ Q continues to grow in production. He is also traveling more from coast to coast to participate in different music related events. Q’s goal is to develop and mentor new talent and to break new artists while enhancing his DJ style to be heard globally. Be on the lookout in a city near you!
