Did you know that Breast Cancer is one of the most common cancers among american women? Many women have no symptoms which is why regular screenings is so important. Not all reasons for developing breast cancer are known but changes or mutations in DNA, which can be passed on from parents, can cause normal cells to become cancerous. Other risk factors may include hormone involvement and lifestyle (exercise, diet) choices. PDCHC partners with Norton Mammography Mobile to provide mammograms onsite, at the Wilson Location, twice a month every month. Visit PDCHC.org for more information on how The Park Duvalle Community Health Center can help serve you.
November is American Diabetes Month and PDCHC provides free one on one education for those with diabetes. Adult Medicine cares for diabetic patients creating individualized care plans to improve health outcomes. You can lower your risk by eating more vegetables and fruits which lower the risk of not only type 2 diabetes, but heart disease and obesity too. The Park DuValle Community Health Center also offers WIC Nutritional Services to help you adjust and make better decisions for healthier food/meal options.
