The Oscars 2021 will not be “virtual” instead it will be an “in-person telecast.”
Many thought that because of COVID the Academy would again choose the virtual route for the event, but in a recent announcement, it was made clear that won’t be the case.
Executives with the Academy and ABC have walked the 3,600 seat Dolby Theater already and are currently devising the safest plan possible to put people in the seats.
The Academy Awards will air two months later on April 25, 2021.
