Three busing options were narrowed down to one, which would leave some JCPS schools without transportation.

HERE IS WHAT WE KNOW SO FAR!

On Tuesday the board will meet and listen to the district’s presentation on the plan. It would mean no more transportation for magnet and traditional schools.

JCPS says they don’t have enough bus drivers to cover all their routes and get all bus riders to school on time each day.

Traditional and magnet schools would no longer have busing.

JCPS says option one is the most equitable with the least negative impact on students of color. WHICH I THINK IS THE TOTAL OPPOSITE.

Here is what Option One is:

That’s Option One – providing buses only for students who attend their resides school, elementary students who attend school in their cluster, special education students who have transportation in their IEP, McKinney Vento students, and students who attend alternative schools or state agency schoolsThat would mean no more JCPS transportation for magnet and traditional students or high school Academies of Louisville students who aren’t going to their resides school.
