Andrew Toles, a former outfielder with the Dodgers, was re-signed in March despite the fact that he has not competed in Major League Baseball since 2018.

Since the 2019 season, Los Angeles has signed Toles to a contract each year to ensure he has access to health insurance.

Toles did notĀ attendĀ spring training in 2019 due to a “personal issue.” He was eventually determined to have schizophrenia and bipolar illness.

At Key West International Airport, Toles was found sleeping behind a FedEx building a year later. He was then taken into custody and charged with trespassing. After the event, he was transferred to a mental health center.

Do you support the Dodgers’ decision to provide Toles insurance coverage? Why or why not?
