Happy Veterans Day!!! What is it, and why do we celebrate?

It seems like every day, you find out certain things people should know, DON’T!? I love watching late night talk shows, and they ask people on the streets simple questions that turn into funny moments and make you feel like you’re smarter than the average Joe on the street. Believe it or not, some people don’t know what or why we celebrate Veterans Day!? So for those who don’t, here’s a brief summary…Veterans Day was originally known as “Armistice Day!” Major hostilities happened during World War I that ended at the 11th hour, 11th Day and in the 11th month of 1918, when the Armistice with Germany went into effect. The very first Armistice Day was November 11th, 1919. It wasn’t renamed “Veterans Day” until 1954. The difference between “Veterans Day” and “Memorial Day” is…Veterans Day celebrates the service of U.S. Military veterans, Memorial Day honors those who died! Know the difference, know your history!
