Former President Donald Trump is asking courts to pause the release of documents, surrounding the January 6th Capitol attack. Hundreds of documents surrounding the planning and response to the riot, are going to be released to the House select committee as of Friday November 12th. A federal judge blocked Trump’s appeal to block the release of the documents. In a new court filing, Trump asked the D.C. Court of Appeals for “a brief pause in the production” of those documents. Trump previously sued the House committee seeking the documents related to the attacks by citing executive privilege. Judge Tanya Chuktan denied Trump’s appeal saying “This court will not effectively ignore its own reasoning in denying injunctive relief in the first place to grant injunctive relief now,” Chutkan wrote in her decision.
