Now for everyone that watched Bird Box at the end we seen that the mom, boy, and girl all reached safety after getting to the school of the blind. Well what I didn’t know and what you probably didn’t know is the book had and alternate ending. First of all.. YES Bird Box is a book and YES the ending was changed due to the director. According to Susanne Bier, the director of the film, the reason for the different ending is that most of her films end in a positive light. At the end of the movie, Malorie reaches safety at the sanctuary and everyone is safe,but in the book, everyone blinded themselves to be safe.
